Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has expressed high praise for teammate Cole Palmer, highlighting the young forward’s exceptional talent and dedication.
“Cole has shown he is a very good player but he also works hard every day to be where he is today,” Fernandez told Sky Sports.
“Nobody knows what he will be able to achieve in football but I believe in him and I trust that he will achieve anything he puts his mind to because he has incredible quality.”
Palmer’s impact since joining Chelsea has been significant. In the recent 4-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, he scored two penalties, bringing his tally to 12 consecutive successful spot-kicks—a Premier League record, surpassing Yaya Touré’s previous mark.
Since his arrival, Palmer has accumulated 33 goals and 17 assists in Premier League matches, totaling 50 goal involvements in under 50 appearances. This achievement places him among the league’s elite performers, with only Erling Haaland, Andy Cole, and Mohamed Salah reaching 50 goal contributions in fewer games for a single club.
Football pundit Jamie Carragher has also lauded Palmer’s performances, suggesting that he has been the Premier League’s standout player over the past 18 months. Carragher stated, “I don’t think there has been a player in the Premier League who has performed better than him in these 18 months.”
Palmer’s contributions have been instrumental in Chelsea’s recent successes, and with continued support from teammates like Fernandez, he is poised to achieve even greater heights in his career.
