Chelsea are on the brink of securing Jadon Sancho on a permanent deal after agreeing on personal terms with the winger, according to Simon Phillips.

Sancho joined the Blues on loan from Manchester United during the summer transfer window, with a clause obligating Chelsea to buy the player if they finish 14th or higher in the Premier League this season. With Chelsea currently far above the threshold, the move appears all but certain.

Reports suggest that both the player and the club are thrilled with the arrangement. Sancho is said to be “on cloud nine” with life at Stamford Bridge, while Chelsea are equally impressed with the winger’s performances so far.

The transfer fee, reportedly around £25 million, is seen as a bargain for a player of Sancho’s calibre. In 10 Premier League appearances this season, he has registered two goals and three assists, showing glimpses of the talent that made him one of Europe’s most sought-after players during his Borussia Dortmund days.
