Chelsea star Cole Palmer took a playful approach to his omission from the FIFA World XI, sharing a cheeky Instagram post just before the official announcement.

Despite being nominated, the 21-year-old midfielder did not make the final cut, a surprising decision considering his stellar performances this year.

Palmer’s post featured two light-hearted images: a pack of chips and a photo of himself posing with a teddy bear, signalling that he’s unfazed by the exclusion.

Palmer’s omission comes after a remarkable year in which he was named English Footballer of the Year, triumphing over high-profile competitors Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka.

However, Bellingham was among the midfielders selected for the FIFA World XI, alongside Toni Kroos and Rodri.

The attacking line-up included Erling Haaland, Vinicius Jr, and Lamine Yamal, rounding off a star-studded squad.

While some fans expressed disappointment over Palmer’s snub, the midfielder’s carefree response highlights his focus on the positives, showing resilience and good humour in the face of the decision.
