Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge in January, with West Ham United reportedly leading the race for his signature.

The 21-year-old, signed from Aston Villa in 2022 for a fee of around £20 million, has struggled for regular game time, making only 32 appearances since joining the Blues.

Reports suggest Chelsea are open to offloading Chukwuemeka, with head coach Enzo Maresca reportedly supporting the decision. Maresca believes a move could provide the young midfielder with the opportunity to reignite his career away from the pressures of Stamford Bridge.

While West Ham are said to be the frontrunners, Crystal Palace are also monitoring the situation closely. The England U21 international has additionally drawn interest from several European clubs, including Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, Napoli, and Eintracht Frankfurt.

As Chelsea look to trim their squad in the January transfer window, Chukwuemeka’s departure could mark the start of a new chapter for the promising midfielder, giving him a fresh chance to showcase his talent at a club where he can secure regular minutes.
