Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has revealed that Chelsea icon Didier Drogba is one of two Premier League players he wished he had the chance to play alongside during his illustrious career.

The Frenchman, who won league titles with Arsenal and Barcelona and lifted the 1998 World Cup with France, named Drogba and Nicolas Anelka as his dream strike partners in the Premier League.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Henry expressed his admiration for Drogba’s playing style and how well they could have complemented each other on the pitch.

“Because of the way he used to play and the way he was. You have two players who I would have loved to play with in the Premier League. Him and Anelka,” Henry said.

Reflecting on a potential partnership with Drogba, Henry added: “I would have loved to play with Anelka up front and him. I think both of us up front, problem, big problem.”

The former Arsenal striker even shared a recent conversation he had with Drogba, highlighting how they imagined playing together: “I saw him [Drogba] the other day and we were actually talking about it. We sat down at the airport and I went, ‘Can you believe if we played both of us together?’

“He didn’t like to go too much out of that area, and I was more of a mover, a bit everywhere. It would have been a bit of a problem.”*

Didier Drogba, renowned for his physical presence and clinical finishing, remains one of Chelsea’s greatest-ever strikers, while Henry is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s finest forwards. A partnership between the two would indeed have been, as Henry described it, a “big problem” for defenders across the league.
