Chelsea are reportedly still in the hunt for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, but the Blues may not really push for the deal due to the form of Nicolas Jackson.

According to sources close to Osimhen’s situation, the 25-year-old has become a priority target for both Premier League clubs. Chelsea view Osimhen as an ideal addition to bolster their attacking options, while United are keen on the Napoli striker due to doubts over Marcus Rashford’s future and the underwhelming impact of summer signing Joshua Zirkzee.

While Chelsea are known admirers of the Nigerian international, they may also face challenges from Juventus, who are reportedly eyeing Osimhen as a potential replacement for Dusan Vlahovic. Vlahovic’s future in Turin remains uncertain as he has yet to agree to a new contract with the Serie A side.

Currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, Osimhen has demonstrated his ability to perform at the highest level, particularly during his time in Italy. This could make Juventus a favoured destination, given his previous success in Serie A.

However, Chelsea are expected to push hard for the forward’s signature, as their ambition to strengthen the squad aligns with their long-term vision under manager Enzo Maresca. If they can outbid both Manchester United and Juventus, Osimhen could be the transformative player the Blues need to challenge for silverware in the coming seasons.
