Chelsea star Jason Sancho has hailed the leadership and authority of the club’s head coach Enzo Maresca, emphasising the respect he commands within the squad.

“The leadership of our head coach—it is an authority born out of respect,” said Sancho, highlighting the manager’s role as the guiding force behind the team’s unity and success.

While acknowledging the collective leadership within the squad, Sancho made it clear that the head coach remains the central figure. “We’re all kind of leaders because we all have different attributes to help each other, but the leading voice is definitely the manager,” he explained.

“The manager is the voice of the whole team, and whatever he says goes. We all buy into that,” Sancho continued, emphasising the squad’s trust in their coach.

According to Sancho, the coach’s understanding of the players and his ability to offer practical advice have been instrumental. “He understands us and always gives us advice about what to do in our position and how to help each other out. All the players trust him and believe in him.”

Sancho also pointed to the manager’s playing experience as a key factor in his credibility. “It’s always nice to feel supported, but he’s played the game as well, so has a lot to offer and give advice on, about what to do and not do,” he concluded.
