Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has provided key fitness updates following his side’s victory over Brentford, with Joao Felix and Romeo Lavia in line to return for the next game.

“We had Joao and Romeo that probably can be available for the next one,” Maresca revealed, offering a positive outlook on the duo’s recovery.

Maresca also detailed the club’s ongoing injury challenges:
“Carney [Chukwuemeka] after Astana was ill, Chilly (Ben Chilwell) was ill. Pedro [Neto] was suspended and then we had Reece [James] and Wes (Fofana) injured, and unfortunately during the session yesterday, Benoit [Badiashile] felt something, and Misha [Mudryk] is out too.”

The update on Badiashile was particularly concerning. “Benoit had a problem yesterday during the session. For now, we do not know how long he will be out for,” Maresca confirmed.

Despite the setbacks, the Chelsea boss expressed hope for Lavia’s potential availability, stating: “As for Romeo, he can be available for the next game.”

With injuries mounting, the Blues will be hoping for timely returns to strengthen their squad for the crucial fixtures ahead.
