Chelsea fans have been left amused and impressed by Marc Cucurella’s starring role in a hilarious new Puma advert following his on-pitch mishap during the Blues’ thrilling 4-3 victory over Tottenham.

The left-back found himself in the spotlight after slipping twice in the build-up to Tottenham’s early goals, leading to a furious reaction as he swapped out his Puma Future 8 boots mid-game. After the dramatic win, Cucurella shared a photo of the discarded boots in a bin with the caption: “Sorry Blues.”

The boots, engraved with the message “This boot might be leaked. We’re used to it. Don’t worry. Stay tuned,” were set to launch the next day, but the derby drama threatened to overshadow the release.

Puma, however, turned the incident into a marketing masterstroke. In a new advert shared on social media, Cucurella is pictured wearing the boots next to a caution wet floor sign, with the caption: “It’s not how you slip, it’s how you bounce back.”

The clever response quickly went viral, with fans hailing the campaign. One fan called it “Excellent salvaging work,” while another praised it as “Best marketing ever.” A third added, “What a comeback from Puma.”
