Former England midfielder Danny Murphy has expressed admiration for Jadon Sancho’s resurgence at Chelsea and believes the winger could earn an England recall under new manager Thomas Tuchel.

Sancho, who joined Chelsea on loan from Manchester United in August, has been instrumental in the Blues’ recent successes. His standout performances include a remarkable goal in Chelsea’s 4-3 comeback victory against Tottenham Hotspur, where he skillfully maneuvered past defenders before scoring.

Murphy highlighted Sancho’s revival, stating, “Sancho is again looking like the winger who ripped it up for Borussia Dortmund and it already feels like a no-brainer to turn his loan move into a permanent agreement.” He added, “I love seeing young players overcome adversity and Sancho has been a joy to watch this season.”

Sancho’s statistics this season are impressive, with five goal involvements in nine Premier League games. His versatility and ability to play on both flanks have added a new dimension to Chelsea’s attack. Murphy noted, “A fit and confident Sancho is an asset to any club. He has wonderful balance that helps him glide across the pitch. His versatility is an added asset in the modern game; he can beat a man right or left.”

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has praised Sancho’s contributions, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high performance levels. Maresca stated, “The only thing he has to do is to continue in the same way. He cannot drop, otherwise he’s not going to play.”

Sancho himself has acknowledged the positive environment at Chelsea, saying, “From the very first day, [Chelsea] made me feel welcome. I know I have a lot of people to prove wrong, and I’m just working hard every day in training.”

With England’s World Cup qualifiers beginning in March, Murphy believes Sancho’s current form could earn him a spot in Tuchel’s squad. He remarked, “England’s World Cup qualifiers begin in March and if he continues with his present form, don’t be surprised to see him called up by new manager Thomas Tuchel.”

Sancho’s journey from a challenging period at Manchester United to becoming a key player for Chelsea underscores his resilience and determination. As he continues to impress, both club and country stand to benefit from his rejuvenated form.
