Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei is reportedly in discussions over a potential January loan move to Serie A side Monza, as per the BBC.

The 21-year-old Italian, who joined Chelsea from Inter Milan in the summer of 2022 for a fee of approximately €15 million, has struggled for game time at Stamford Bridge.

Despite making five appearances for the Blues this season, including three starts, he has yet to feature in a Premier League match and has only been named on the bench twice.

Monza, currently languishing in 19th place in the Serie A standings, are keen to bolster their squad in their battle for survival, and Casadei could provide the midfield reinforcement they need.

This would not be the first loan spell for the talented youngster. Prior to the current campaign, Casadei gained experience through a year-and-a-half loan stint, including a notable spell at Leicester City under the guidance of Enzo Maresca.
