Jadon Sancho has shed light on Chelsea’s mind-set as the Blues find themselves firmly in the Premier League title race under head coach Enzo Maresca.

Despite sitting second in the table after 15 games, the Chelsea squad is refusing to get carried away, maintaining a grounded approach to their impressive campaign so far.

Chelsea currently hold a two-point advantage over third-placed Arsenal and sit four points clear of Manchester City – both of whom were widely regarded as stronger title contenders at the start of the season.

However, speaking to Sky Sports, Sancho emphasised that Chelsea’s success hinges on their ability to focus on the task at hand.

For Sancho, no one is talking about the title race now, and the Chelsea players are rather taking it game by game.

“We’re taking it game by game,” Sancho stated. “Every game is going to be a tough game, and it’s still a long season ahead. None of the boys are thinking anything right now.”

Sancho, who is on loan at Stamford Bridge from Manchester United, highlighted the squad’s shared mentality, revealing the players’ commitment to staying grounded despite their impressive position in the league.

“Obviously, we are glad to be in this position, but we have to take it game by game,” he added.

When asked about the importance of blocking out external discussions about their title chances, Sancho reiterated the squad’s unified approach: “That’s what all the guys are saying to each other – we haven’t done anything yet.”
