Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has praised 18-year-old striker Marc Guiu following his standout performance against Astana.

Joe Cole revealed his admiration of the youngster, and praised the young forward’s energy, aggression and immense potential.

Speaking after the match, Cole expressed his admiration for the teenager’s qualities:
“I love Marc Guiu. Like I said, this is exactly the game where he’ll give you energy and aggression with his running.”

Cole also marvelled at Guiu’s physical presence and envisioned how his development could make him a key player for Chelsea in the future:
“Just think, this kid is 18, how big and strong he’ll be when he’s older. I think Chelsea have got a real gem there.”

While Cole sees Guiu’s potential to thrive in a Chelsea shirt, he remains cautious about the timeline for his full integration into the first team: “I think he’s a Chelsea player but maybe it’s a year down the line. We don’t know the path he’s going to choose, but he’s certainly very talented.”
