Chelsea have firmly dismissed an audacious proposal from Barcelona that included Frenkie de Jong and Ferran Torres in exchange for Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

According to reports from Fichajes, Barcelona, under the leadership of president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco, are keen to sign Fernandez as part of their plans to rejuvenate the squad.

Despite his technical quality, Frenkie de Jong has reportedly struggled to fully adapt to manager Hansi Flick’s tactical system at Barcelona.

Similarly, Ferran Torres has failed to make a significant impact since his arrival at Camp Nou, making both players expendable in the club’s eyes.

The Catalan giants were hoping that including De Jong and Torres in a package deal might tempt Chelsea into parting with their midfield maestro. However, the Blues are said to have no interest in letting Fernandez leave.

Chelsea reportedly view the 22-year-old as a vital part of their long-term project. Since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, Fernandez has become a key figure in Enzo Maresca’s squad, showcasing leadership qualities and exceptional technical ability in midfield.
