Christopher Nkunku has been the best player in the Conference League so far, and he put in another fine display as Chelsea beat Heidenheim 2-0.
Nkunku has now become the first Chelsea player to score in his first four major European games for the club.
Nkunku opened the scoring for Chelsea in the second-half away to Bundesliga club Heidenheim, as Chelsea made it a fourth win in four games so far in the competition.
By scoring against Heidenheim, not only has Christopher Nkunku become the first player to ever net in his first four continental games for Chelsea, he has also become the first man since Olivier Giroud in Chelsea’s successful Europa League campaign in 2018-19 to net in four consecutive European games for the club.
If qualifiers were also taken into account, Nkunku’s record in the Conference League is even better, considering he scored in both playoff ties with Swiss side Servette back in August.
Speaking after the game, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca hailed goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen and Christopher Nkunku.
He said: “Filip did a very good game, Christo the same. We have nine or 10 games in December so they are going to get more chances. They need to be ready.”
