Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has heaped praise on Jadon Sancho after the winger’s influential performance in the Blues’ 2-0 victory over Heidenheim in the Europa Conference League.

Sancho provided both assists for Chelsea’s goals, taking his tally to five assists in just six games for Chelsea this season.

Maresca was quick to underline Sancho’s significance to the team, saying:

“I said since we start, Jadon is very important for us. He has to be fit, mentally and physically and he is going to help us a lot.”

Acknowledging Sancho’s recent absence, the Chelsea boss added:

“Unfortunately we did not use him in the last few games but he is showing tonight how important he is.

“We need that quality in the last third against a low block. He is going to help us a lot.”
