20-year-old Chelsea loanee Andrey Santos is doing well on loan with Strasbourg.
Andrey Santos has been making tremendous improvements with the French side, and made a notable impression as captain of RC Strasbourg Alsace in their 2-1 defeat to OGC Nice on Sunday night.
Santos was handed the Strasbourg captain’s armband in the absence of usual captain Habib Diarra.
Santos’ performance earned praise from manager Liam Rosenior, even though they lost the game.
Rosenior hailed Santos’ professionalism and work ethic, saying: “He was great. He constantly shows professionalism every day in his work, he constantly wants to improve and constantly trains at 100%.”
On handing Santos the captain’s armband, despite the presence of other experienced players, Rosenior said: “There were other players that had a worthy cause to be captain, but I felt that Andrey was the right choice.
“I felt that he didn’t do the armband any disservice at all.”
