In a game Chelsea should have easily won, the Blues only recorded a 2-1 victory, after missing too many opportunities.

For Fofana, the three points is what matters most.

“After the international break, it is a bit harder,” Fofana said. “Some players only came back yesterday. We played well and we won the game, which is the most important thing.”

He went on: “We like this pressure, we play for this and to finish at the top,” he said. “We try to win every game to stay high.”

The win marked a successful return to Leicester City for Fofana, who spent two years with the Foxes before joining Chelsea.

“It felt great to come back here, two incredible years here,” he said.
