Chelsea coach leaves Chelsea

Reports have it that Thomas Tuchel is planning a raid on his former club, Chelsea, as he’s set to take over as the new England Head Coach.

According to The Telegraph, goalkeeper coach Henrique Hilario has handed in his resignation at Chelsea to be part of Thomas Tuchel’s coaching staff for England.

Hilario, who worked under Tuchel during Chelsea’s 2021 Champions League triumph, will reunite with the German at England.

The Portuguese international has been a goalkeeping coach at Stamford Bridge since 2016, initially joining Antonio Conte’s staff.

Anthony Barry, who worked under Tuchel at Chelsea and Bayern Munich, has already been named as his assistant.

Chelsea are bracing for further staff departures, with reports suggesting Tuchel may also recruit performance analyst James Melbourne.

Tuchel was given an 18-month contract, with a target of securing success with England at the 2026 World Cup.

The former Chelsea boss begins his reign as England manager in January, which is when Hilario and Barry will also resume work.

Chelsea have reportedly wished Hilario well and have given him the green light to link up with Tuchel.
