When Chelsea signed up Cole Palmer from Manchester City last year, not many expected that it would be the signing of the summer.

Palmer has gone on to be a top player for Chelsea, and is currently one of the best players in the Premier League.

Cole Palmer has made a brutally honest claim about leaving Manchester City to sign for Chelsea.

Palmer said in an interview with GQ: “I had no intention of going to Chelsea at all.

“I was persuaded [nods towards his manager].

“I just realised that [at Manchester City], I wouldn’t play as much as I wanted.

“Even when I went to training camp with England at the younger age groups, there were players there who were playing in the league every week.

“You look at them and think: I can play in the league too. When you don’t play, it’s annoying.”
