Manchester United have reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku during the upcoming January transfer window.
According to French outlet L’Equipe, United’s new head coach, Rúben Amorim, is keen on bolstering his attacking options and views Nkunku as a prime candidate.
Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in July 2023, signing a six-year contract. However, his tenure at Stamford Bridge has been challenging, with limited Premier League starts and competition from players like Nicolas Jackson.
Despite these hurdles, Nkunku has showcased his talent, netting 10 goals across all competitions this season for Chelsea.
The French international’s situation has attracted attention from several clubs, with Manchester United reportedly making preliminary inquiries about his availability.
Nkunku is said to be considering his future, as he seeks more consistent playing time and a key role in the squad.
Chelsea’s management now faces a decision: retain Nkunku, who was a significant investment, or entertain offers from interested parties.
The club’s stance on this matter will likely depend on their assessment of Nkunku’s potential contributions and the strategic direction under manager Enzo Maresca.
