Chelsea legend Frank Leboeuf has voiced his displeasure with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s claim that his team “dominated” Chelsea during their 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to ESPN, Leboeuf criticized Arteta’s assessment of the match, arguing that it was Chelsea, not Arsenal, who had the upper hand for much of the game.

“I was a little bit upset with his press conference after the game, ‘yeah, we were dominant, we were better than them, we deserve to win,’” Leboeuf remarked.

“Since when? I saw the game, and I would have said it fairly if it was the case, but it wasn’t.”

Leboeuf acknowledged Arsenal’s improvement toward the end but was adamant that Chelsea outperformed them for the majority of the match.

“I felt that Chelsea was much better in the first half than Arsenal, but Arsenal finished better, because I think physically, they were better than Chelsea. But overall, who can say that Arsenal was better than Chelsea? Never.”

The former Chelsea defender also pointed out the nature of Arsenal’s opportunities, dismissing their outside efforts as inconsequential.

“They had chances, but they were outside so it doesn’t count,” he said. “So, yeah, I don’t like this attitude. Respect others, otherwise you wouldn’t be respected.”

Leboeuf’s comments reflect a sentiment shared by Chelsea fans who watched their team go toe-to-toe with Arsenal. For Blues supporters, Arteta’s claims seem unfounded, with Chelsea proving their strength and competitiveness in a hard-fought London derby.
