In what may come as a shock to many Chelsea fans, goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga could be on the move next summer for a mere £5 million, according to Goal.

This surprisingly low figure, attributed to a release clause in his contract, is a far cry from the staggering £71 million Chelsea paid for him in 2018, setting a then-world record for a goalkeeper.

Kepa, currently on loan at Bournemouth, has faced his fair share of challenges since his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

Once hailed as a potential world-class keeper, the Spaniard found it difficult to meet the expectations associated with being Chelsea’s No.1.

Despite flashes of brilliance, consistency eluded him, leading the club to seek alternative options in goal.

Reports suggest that Bournemouth’s head coach, Andoni Iraola, is keen to retain Kepa beyond the current loan spell.

The Cherries have shown promising form under Iraola’s leadership, and he has openly expressed his desire for Kepa to stay long-term, hinting at ongoing discussions behind the scenes.

If certain conditions are met, the Spaniard may well find himself with a permanent move to the south coast, as both player and club look to solidify their futures.

Kepa’s career has seen him amass over 100 clean sheets across his spells with Athletic Club, Chelsea, and now Bournemouth.

His record includes 59 clean sheets in 163 appearances for Chelsea alone. However, injuries have limited his appearances for Bournemouth this season, with five league games under his belt so far.
