Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has opened up on his philosophy, after the 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Chelsea had to come from behind to draw the game, and for Enzo Maresca, it was important not to lose all three points.

Enzo Maresca has borrowed an Italian philosophy, which was a key signature of Jose Mourinho as well.

“I think overall we controlled the game quite well, knowing that against them you are going to concede some chances, especially counter-attacks, because of the skills of the players, with Rashford and Garnacho in behind. We knew that,” he said.

“I think we did the most difficult thing in this stadium and against this team, which is coming back after they scored.

“We were down but came back and probably after it was 1-1, because of the desire to try to win the game, we exposed ourselves too much in the last five or 10 minutes and conceded a bit more.

“Overall we are happy. In Italy we used to say if you can’t win it’s important that you don’t lose. In the end we tried everything to win the game. We didn’t, but it’s important to continue in this direction.”
