Cole Palmer and Joao Felix play similar roles in Enzo Maresca’s system, and it’s either one or the other to start a game.
Palmer and Felix have so far played in the No.10 role this season; while Palmer features in the Premier League, Joao Felix plays in the Conference League and the Carabao Cup.
Felix has not started a single Premier League game so far, but has made five appearances off the bench and has scored one goal. He also grabbed a brace in the Conference League win over Panathinaikos.
For Cole Palmer, he has been Chelsea’s best player in the Premier League, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in nine appearances.
Enzo Maresca has revealed that he is coming up with a plan that will see both Joao Felix and Cole Palmer start a game.
Enzo Maresca said: “Probably soon we are going to see Joao and Cole together in the pocket with a striker.
“It’s always the game that requires a different plan.”
