Sancho doesn’t have the pace but Neto does – Jamie Carragher

Jadon Sancho didn’t have the best of games against Liverpool and was eventually subbed off at half-time after finding it difficult against Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Sancho was subbed off for Pedro Neto who was very brilliant on the day. Neto  caused massive problems for Liverpool’s backline, as Alexander-Arnold struggled to cope with his pace and direct play.

Jamie Carragher believes there is one key reason why that swap was made, as he said on Monday Night Football: “At half-time, Neto comes on for Sancho because, for me, I don’t think Sancho has really got the pace really to go at a full-back. Neto’s got it.”

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has a load of quality players in attack, as Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk didn’t get to feature in the game, while Christopher Nkunku came on in the second-half.

Up next for Chelsea is a visit to Greece to play Panathanaikos on Thursday before hosting Newcastle in the Premier League on Sunday.
