Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit, has played down the hype surrounding Cole Palmer.
Cole Palmer has been receiving massive accolades since last season, and already has a number of awards in his locker.
However, the 22-year-old had a bad game against Liverpool, as Chelsea lost 2-1 to the Reds.
For Emmanuel Petit, Cole Palmer isn’t yet world-class.
When asked if one bad performance against a big club could undermine the 22-year-old’s success, Petit said: “No, I don’t think so.
“Palmer had a very good last season, but he had a bad start to this one and showed himself well in September.
“There is a lot of media hype around young talented players.
“Palmer is very good, but he is not yet a top international player – that is the level he needs to reach.
“He shows promising skills, maturity and individual qualities, but to be honest, he hasn’t achieved anything yet and is far from world-class at the moment.”
