Robert Sanchez was under the spotlight yet again as Chelsea lost 2-1 to Liverpool.
Sanchez has been criticised for making mistakes since signing for Chelsea, but Blues boss Enzo Maresca seems to think highly of the Spaniard.
Quizzed about the performance of his goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, after the Liverpool game, Enzo Maresca said: “I’m very happy with Robert, he’s doing fantastic with us.
“Not only in building from the back but also making saves.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was very critical of the performance of Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
Although Sanchez could do nothing to prevent Mohamed Salah’s 29th-minute penalty, Carragher believes the Chelsea goalkeeper could’ve prevented Curtis Jones’ eventual winner.
“In terms of control of the game, Chelsea were better, but what let them down was the goalkeeper,” Carragher told Sky Sports after the match.
“They need a new goalkeeper if they want to get back to where they want to be.”
Chelsea are back in action on Thursday with a trip to Greek side Panathinaikos in the Conference League.
