Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has barely played games since joining the club in 2022.

Chelsea paid over £70m to sign Wesley Fofana in the summer of 2022, as so much was expected of him.

However, injuries have prevented Fofana from developing his game, even though he’s just 23.

Fofana’s fitness has improved, and he has started every Premier League game so far this season, but Chelsea are trying to manage his situation.

According to L’Equipe, Chelsea have come up with a strict policy to manage Wesley Fofana’s fitness after he missed the entire 2023-24 season.

Fofana was left out of the Conference League squad for the league stage, as Chelsea plan to reduce his burden until 2025.

Enzo Maresca also agrees with this policy, even though he views Fofana as a key player for his project.

Wesley Fofana will miss the Liverpool game after the international break as he has collected five yellow cards.
