Sky Sports icon Jeff Stelling has wondered whether Chelsea really needed to sign Pedro Neto.
Chelsea paid £54m to sign Pedro Neto from Wolves over the summer transfer window.
Neto will have to battle a host of star names to make the Chelsea starting team – as Enzo Maresca has a star-studded attack.
24-year-old signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea to keep him in west London until 2031.
However, former Sky Sports presenter Stelling believes Neto may be having major doubts about his move to Stamford Bridge, as he’s not a guaranteed starter.
“I mentioned Pedro Neto earlier,” he said on talkSPORT. “I just wonder if he is regretting in any way shape or form his move because he can’t get a start at Chelsea.
“You do want to see him on the football pitch because he has had so many injuries over the years, he has played so little football.”
Neto started the Carabao Cup game against Barrow, and has now featured in seven of Chelsea’s eight games so far this season. However, he has started just three games, more frequently coming off the bench as a substitute.
