Reece James may just be only 24, but he has battled with injuries for much of his career.

The Chelsea captain has now endured over 500 days on the sidelines with different issues throughout his professional career due to recurring injuries.

Reece James is yet to play under Enzo Maresca due to a recurring hamstring injury sustained in the first game of the 2023-24 Premier League season.

Despite efforts to manage his fitness, the 24-year-old’s third hamstring issue in a year has not healed as planned, and his return remains uncertain still.

Reece James made just 10 Premier League appearances last season and only five of those were starting appearances.

In the 2022-23 campaign, Reece James season was hampered by knee trouble, as he managed just 16 league outings in that season.

The last time James was able to make over 30 appearances in a campaign was in the 2021-22 season, when he turned out 39 times across all competitions.

Chelsea are trying their best to manage Reece James situation, and get back their captain on track. On his day, Reece James remains one of the best right-backs in the world.
