It has been a trying time for Reece James, as injuries have marred the Chelsea captain’s progress over the last two seasons.
Reece James’ injury woes have continued this season, as the 24-year-old is yet to make an appearance this campaign.
James picked up a hamstring injury during pre-season, and initially it was not thought to be serious. It was expected James would return to action before the end of this month, but that may not be the case anymore.
According to The Sun, while there has been no new problem, the injury has not recovered as quickly as hoped.
Chelsea are also not in a hurry for James to return so as not to aggravate his injury.
Reece James made just 10 Premier League appearances last season and only five of those were starting appearances.
In the 2022-23 campaign, Reece James season was hampered by knee trouble, as he managed just 16 league outings in that season.
The last time James was able to make over 30 appearances in a campaign was in the 2021-22 season, when he turned out 39 times across all competitions.
