According to reports, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has been pleased with what he has seen from new signing Jadon Sancho.
Sancho joined Chelsea on transfer deadline day from Manchester United, in an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy.
With most of the squad away on international duty, Sancho has been training at Cobham.
Journalist Simon Phillips reports that Enzo Maresca and his staff are “loving” Sancho’s attitude, energy, and quality in training.
Sancho is now in line to make his Chelsea debut against Bournemouth next Saturday.
Chelsea have enough presence on the flanks, and Sancho will face stiff competition for a starting spot from the likes of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke.
With the Chelsea players away on international duty, Sancho now has an opportunity to impress Enzo Maresca and potentially earn a starting spot against Bournemouth.
Maresca had wished Sancho was available for the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace last weekend.
He said: “I’m very happy to have Sancho at Chelsea, he’s here because we like that kind of player who can help in 1vs1.
“He’s key – especially against a low block, we need him.”
