Chelsea had tried to sign Victor Osimhen before end of the summer transfer window, but a deal failed to materialise.
After Osimhen failed to make a switch before deadline day, the Nigerian international ended up with a loan deal to join Galatasaray.
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Chelsea have an edge over other Serie A clubs who may wish to sign Victor Osimhen at a lower price next summer.
Osimhen was able to get Napoli to lower his release clause to €75 million – and the Nigerian striker will be allowed to speak to only foreign clubs.
Top sources have backed Chelsea to make a second attempt to sign Osimhen next year after a failed attempt this summer.
It’s yet to be seen whether Chelsea will go for Osimhen next year. For now, the club has decided to trust Nicolas Jackson, with Marc Guiu as his back-up.
