Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca may have to navigate through some right-back challenges, with Malo Gusto and Reece James currently out injured.

Reece James who missed most of last season through a muscle injury, has been sidelined with a hamstring problem since the start of the season.

Malo Gusto who was signed last summer, has been deputising for Reece James, and has now grown into the role.

However, Gusto was forced off midway through the second half against Crystal Palace, clutching his hamstring after initially shaking off an earlier collision.

Ahead of the upcoming game with Bournemouth after the international break, Reece James is still a couple of weeks away from returning to full training.

Enzo Maresca will now have to work on how to structure the team without his two right-backs.

Chelsea fans have reacted to this development, and some Chelsea supporters have blamed Enzo Maresca for James’ latest predicament, after using him too heavily during pre-season friendlies this summer.

TOP_MAN: “Makes you appreciate Azpi and Ivanovic.”

Gary: “This isn’t surprising, he played every minute of pre-season despite being suspended for our first three games, he could’ve got match sharpness against Servette but Maresca completely underestimated James’ injuries.”

King David: “What I prayed against.”

AzM: “Reece James should be eased in to match fitness, with Malo Gusto out too, we have an able deputy.”

Malcolm Gunn: “If Maresca is going to continue playing inverted fullbacks. I’d rather James took his time getting fit.”
