Chelsea sought after Napoli striker Victor Osimhen until transfer deadline day, but both parties couldn’t reach an agreement.
Chelsea are left with Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu as their only recognised strikers.
Speaking after the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, Enzo Maresca was asked: Was there a frustration you didn’t get a striker?
The Chelsea manager responded: “We want players but we want players that we decide and then the condition has to be our condition.
“So if the players are not here, then that means the conditions were not good for us.”
Asked if Chelsea will go for another striker in January, Blues boss Enzo Maresca responded: “Yeah, we’ll see now, from here to January. I don’t know how many games we have, but I’ve told you many times I like to focus on the next days. So we will see in January.”
