So far, Chelsea have signed well, and the Blues are almost done with their signings for the summer, albeit a striker is still needed.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have a back-up plan to sign a new defender, as Benfica centre-back Tomas Araujo is on the club’s shortlist in case they sell a defender at the end of the transfer window.

Tomas Araujo, 22, is seen as one of the outstanding young centre-backs in Europe, and has impressed for Benfica.

PSG are also another team interested in signing the Benfica defender.

Chelsea have a number of defenders available for sale. Trevoh Chalobah has been put up for sale for a long time, while Axel Disasi is being monitored by Newcastle.

With Chelsea yet to sell any of their defenders, Chelsea are yet to submit any bid for Araujo, but are still monitoring the player.
