Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga will join Bournemouth on loan for the 2024-25 season.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted of the deal: “Kepa to Bournemouth, deal done and medical tests ongoing now at AFCB ground!
“Kepa signs one more year of contract at Chelsea now valid until June 2026 and joins Bournemouth on loan until July. Agreement done between all parties.”
Kepa’s contract with Chelsea was to expire in 2025. Chelsea are giving him a new deal so they could sell him for a fee next summer.
Kepa’s deal was due to expire in June 2025 which would have allowed him to leave Chelsea on a free transfer at the end of his loan spell with the Cherries.
Kepa is still the world’s most expensive ever goalkeeper following a move in 2018 from his boyhood club Athletic Bilbao for £71m.
Kepa spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, where he made 20 appearances, and won La Liga and Champions League.
