Chelsea started their European Conference League campaign with a 2-0 victory over Swiss side Servette.
After a laboured first-half where Chelsea were quite underwhelming, the second-half was much better.
Goals from Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke in the second-half gave Chelsea the victory.
The first-half was quite poor by Chelsea’s standards, and one player who looked out of sorts was Mykhailo Mudryk.
According to reporter Ryan Taylor who was present at the game, Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca paid special attention to Mykhailo Mudryk in the first 45 minutes of the game.
“Enzo Maresca is losing patience with Mykhailo Mudryk,” Taylor tweeted.
“He’s been incredibly indecisive & wasted several promising attacks. Maresca is trying to coach him through the game but Mudryk looks lost out of possession. Doesn’t know where or when to press.”
This is Mudryk’s first game under Enzo Maresca, and he didn’t show his worth, especially in the first half.
Enzo Maresca has shown that he can take the hard decisions, as he has told the likes of Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell to leave the club.
