Pep Guardiola is in his ninth year in charge of Manchester City, and has by far been the most successful manager in that time frame.

Manchester City recently beat Manchester United to win the Community Shield, and started the season with a 2-0 victory over Chelsea.  

Pep Guardiola has claimed he has the advantage over Chelsea, Manchester United and his other rivals because of the time he has spent at Manchester City, and has built a system over the years.

Speaking after Man City’s opening win over Chelsea, Pep Guardiola said: “We have an advantage [over other clubs]; it’s our ninth season together so we know each other well.”

Guardiola also emphasised the importance of teamwork and body language, and how these factors made the difference in their previous title wins.

“The difference in being Premier League champions was our body language, how did we behave…” he added.
