The signing of Pedro Neto from Wolves is what has thrilled Chelsea fans the most.

However, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca had revealed that the summer signing from Wolves won’t start the season opener against Manchester City.

“Pedro’s physical condition is good, the only thing is that he’s been here for just the last two or three days, so he will need to get used to the way we play,” Maresca said in his press conference.

“He is fit for sure but whether he starts for us or is on the bench, we will make that decision. But he is physically fit to be involved and he’s available.”

Pedro Neto didn’t feature for Chelsea in pre-season, and was only introduced to Chelsea fans at half-time against Inter Milan.

Neto was handed an extended break this summer after featuring for Portugal at Euro 2024. He had less than 30 minutes under his belt after appearing in just one friendly for Wolves before moving to Chelsea.
