Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is currently at a standstill amid his potential move to Atletico Madrid.

Conor Gallagher has been left in an awkward position as Atletico Madrid struggle to complete his signing from Chelsea.

The Englishman has already passed medical tests with the club and even posed for pictures. However, a deal is now pending.

Gallagher had spent the last five days living in a hotel room. He was also training on his own rather than with the Atletico Madrid squad.

The Chelsea academy product has gotten stuck amid the uncertainty over when the transfer can be finalised. The midfielder is yet to sign his contract with the La Liga side.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Conor Gallagher is flying back on a private plane, despite having agreed personal terms with Atletico, with the move yet to be completed.

He claims Atletico need to raise funds to afford Gallagher’s signing, which is why they are offering Chelsea to take Joao Felix back.

Gallagher, meanwhile, will train with Chelsea’s U21 team, alongside Trevoh Chalobah, Armando Broja and other players not in Enzo Maresca’s plans.
