Enzo Maresca inherited a large playing squad from Mauricio Pochettino, and one of the first things he’d have to do is trim the squad to suit his need.
To this end, a number of Chelsea players have transfer listed and are no longer training with the first team.
Chelsea recently barred one of their longest-serving players from using the club’s first team facilities – Trevoh Chalobah.
Chalobah has been deemed surplus to requirements and will be offloaded in what remains of the transfer window.
Chalobah who has been with Chelsea since the age of eight, has now been banished from the first team, and asked to train alongside Armando Broja and Romelu Lukaku, with the club’s youngsters.
The trio of Chalobah, Armando Broja and Romelu Lukaku are all barred from using the first team facilities.
For Chalobah, it comes as a surprise, as he only signed a new long-term contract two years ago and ended last season as a regular part of Mauricio Pochettino’s improving side.
The likes of Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, Levi Colwill and Tosin Adarabioyo are all ahead of Chalobah.
Chalobah had one time been courted by Bayern Munich, as he impressed under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea. Last season, he had to fight his way into the team under Mauricio Pochettino as well. But this may now be the end of Chalobah at Chelsea.
According to reports, Chalobah is now being coveted by both Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.
