Chelsea have sealed a swift move to sign Pedro Neto from Wolves.
The deal, which sees Chelsea paying Wolves €60 million upfront with an additional €3 million in potential add-ons, marks one of the most significant signings of the summer transfer window.
Chelsea made a surprise and instant move for Neto out of the blues, and sealed the deal in no time.
The 24-year-old winger is expected to be formally presented to Chelsea supporters at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, further bolstering the squad as the Blues aim to compete on multiple fronts this season.
Tottenham and Arsenal were linked with Neto all summer, only for Chelsea to make a swoop.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed what transpired.
“I have many questions on Pedro Neto this summer, but I can guarantee that Arsenal for example were never really in for Pedro Neto this summer. Arsenal had an interest in Pedro Neto, but they never made any concrete proposal this summer,” Romano said.
“Tottenham had a genuine interest in Pedro Neto, he was one of the players in the list of Tottenham, but they were not going to pay that money, Tottenham had a different kind of strategy for Pedro Neto.”
