Pep Guardiola Backs Manchester City Player to Match Cole Palmer’s Success

Following Manchester City’s victory over Manchester United in the Community Shield on Saturday, City manager Pep Guardiola expressed his confidence in young talent Oscar Bobb, comparing his potential to that of Chelsea’s rising star Cole Palmer.

Guardiola was asked about Bobb’s future prospects and whether he could emulate Palmer’s remarkable achievements.

“That would be great because Cole Palmer’s success at Chelsea last season was unbelievable,” Guardiola remarked.

He went on to praise Palmer’s impact, noting, “He was one of the best two or three players in the Premier League as well as his impact at the Euros.”

Guardiola attributed Palmer’s success to his consistent game time, suggesting that similar opportunities for Bobb could yield impressive results.

“He played every single game,” Guardiola continued, “and I’m pretty sure if Oscar plays a lot of minutes, he can do many, many good things – there’s no doubt about that.”
