Chelsea Football Club is thrilled to announce the signing of Portugal international Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 24-year-old forward has penned a seven-year contract with the Blues and will soon begin training with his new teammates at the club’s Cobham training facility.
Expressing his excitement, Pedro Neto said, “I feel really grateful to have joined this club. I have worked really hard in my career to be here and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this shirt.”
Pedro Neto’s football journey began in the youth ranks of Braga, where his exceptional talent quickly caught attention.
He made his first-team debut in May 2017, marking the occasion with a goal in a 4-0 victory over Nacional. At just 17 years, two months, and five days old, he became the third-youngest scorer in Braga’s history.
Following his impressive start at Braga, Pedro secured a two-year loan move to Italian giants Lazio. During his time in Rome, he lifted the Coppa Italia, and his performances led to a permanent move to Lazio ahead of the 2018/19 season.
In August 2019, he transferred to Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he made an immediate impact, scoring and assisting on his debut in a 4-0 win against Pyunik in the UEFA Europa League.
Over his time at Wolves, Pedro Neto became a mainstay in their attack, making 135 appearances and contributing significantly to the team’s success. Last season, he was involved in 11 goals across 20 Premier League matches, showcasing his consistent ability to influence games at the highest level.
In addition to his club success, Pedro Neto has also established himself on the international stage, earning ten caps for Portugal. His latest appearance for the national team came during this summer’s European Championship.
Chelsea FC warmly welcomes Pedro Neto to Stamford Bridge, where fans eagerly anticipate seeing him in action in the famous blue shirt.
