Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic is set to leave Chelsea on a season-long loan deal.
According to BBC, Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg are considering taking Djordje Petrovic on loan.
Following the signing of Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal, Petrovic has dropped down to third choice goalkeeper at Chelsea.
New Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca prefers Robert Sanchez over Petrovic, as Petrovic is a better passer of the ball.
For Strasbourg, they are looking for an experienced goalkeeper to be their first-choice keeper, and Petrovic along with Lyon’s Anthony Lopes are their top targets.
Fiorentina are also said to interested in the 24-year-old.
Petrovic was Chelsea’s first choice goalkeeper in the second half of last season, as he displaced Robert Sanchez who had a dismal campaign filled with errors and injuries.
Last season, Petrovic made 23 Premier League appearances, conceding 38 goals and registering five clean sheets. The Serbian is just a year into a six-year deal with the Blues he signed upon completing a move from New England Revolution last summer.
Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has also been deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
