It has been a poor Chelsea pre-season so far, as the Blues continued their poor pre-season form with a 4-2 defeat to Manchester City.

Two massive blunders resulted in a 2-0 lead for Man City after just five minutes, which put the game to an end as quickly as it started.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has said he’s happy with the performance, and admitted that the early mistakes ruined the game.

“Very strange game, to be honest,” Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca told the press after the 4-2 pre-season defeat to Man City.

“We planned the game, the plan was good with the way we wanted to attack and defend.

“Apart from the first five minutes when we conceded two goals, the team was good.”

Enzo Maresca will need to find his midas touch during the pre-season, as Chelsea fans will mount pressure once the season starts proper.
