New Chelsea signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has backed Wesley Fofana to be a top player this season.

Chelsea paid €80m to sign Wesley Fofana from Leicester City in 2022, and signed him to a seven-year contract.

Injuries have marred Fofana from featuring regularly since signing for Chelsea.

New signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has hailed Wesley Fofana, after playing alongside the French centre-back at Leicester City.

“I am a big fan of Wesley,” the Chelsea newcomer told The Athletic.

“I obviously played with him at Leicester and I know when he is playing at his high level, he is top, top. So far he is looking sharp and fit.

“I know what levels he can get to, probably levels Chelsea fans have not seen yet. That is exciting for the fans I think because when he gets to those levels, they will really see what type of player he is.”

At just 23, Fofana is still a young player, and has the potential to be a top class centre-back, if he can remain injury free.
