Romelu Lukaku is heading back to Chelsea, even though he’s expected to leave Chelsea permanently this summer.

Reporter Mike McGrath tweeted of the Belgian: “Romelu Lukaku travelling back to Chelsea today to train with those not in USA tour.

“Future still up in the air with clubs interested (Napoli interested, Osimhen dependent + others) Starts pre-season prep for new campaign with future in air.”

Lukaku spent last season on loan at Roma, scoring 13 goals in 32 Serie A appearances.

Lukaku still has a contract with Chelsea which expires in 2026.

He has been linked with a summer move to Napoli.

Lukaku is very keen on leaving Chelsea, and is ready to accept wages of around £5m-a-year, to reunite with Antonio Conte at Napoli.

According to the Mirror, Chelsea are looking at potentially saving £16.9m this season with Lukaku’s permanent sale.
